ESB REMAN, nominato agli Automechanika Innovation Awards 2026
18 ago 2026

ESB REMAN has been nominated for the Automechanika Innovation Awards 2026, in the “Circular Economy & Remanufacturing” category, a recognition that highlights its proposal to extend the service life of electronic control units (ECUs) in commercial vehicles.

The nomination comes at a particularly significant edition of these awards, which have attracted a record of 185 entries, from which an international jury has selected just 47 finalist projects across ten categories. Furthermore, “Circular Economy & Remanufacturing” is being included in the event for the first time, reflecting the growing importance of the circular economy and reaconditioning in the automotive sector.

ESB REMAN is in the same category as projects from companies such as Autocraft Solutions Group, Borg Automotive, APS Automotive Products Solutions and Circular Economy Solutions, amongst others, which highlights the calibre of the solutions selected in this new category.

Giving commercial vehicle ECUs a second life

ESB REMAN is a joint project between Knorr-Bremse and Cojali, offering a specialist service for the reaconditioning of electronic control units (ECUs) for commercial vehicles. By replacing parts that are in poor condition or show significant wear and tear, this process enables electronic units to be refurbished and returned to working order, offering an alternative to purchasing new components.

ESB REMAN currently enables the reaconditioning of more than 1,100 ECU references from various vehicle systems, such as engine, brakes, suspension, transmission, climate control, central computer and instrument cluster.

As well as offering workshops an alternative to buying new parts, ESB REMAN helps to reduce electronic waste and extend the service life of components, in line with the principles of the circular economy. Its extensive network of offices across Europe enables it to offer a fast and efficient service.
