Cojali Digital Hub obtains ISO 24089:2023 certification for software update management

Cojali Digital Hub, one of the latest technological developments from Cojali, has been certified as compliant with the international standard ISO 24089:2023, which sets out requirements and recommendations for the engineering of software updates for road vehicles.

This standard is particularly significant in the context of UN Regulation R156, which requires vehicle manufacturers to implement a Software Update Management System (SUMS) as a key regulatory requirement. In this context, manufacturers can rely on a specialised infrastructure such as Cojali Digital Hub to manage their software updates and provide support for the implementation of these processes.

The certification has been awarded by Applus+ IDIADA, a company specialising in engineering, testing, type-approval and certification services for the automotive sector, and it represents external validation of the processes and functionalities developed by Cojali Digital Hub to manage the vehicle software update cycle in a structured, controlled and traceable manner, from configuration and version management to the preparation of software packages, the definition of update campaigns and the monitoring of its implementation throughout the vehicle's entire lifecycle.

A platform ready to meet the new vehicle software challenges

Cojali Digital Hub, part of the range of solutions offered by Cojali OEM Solutions, has been designed as a modular, scalable, multi-system and integrable platform, capable of adapting to different electronic architectures, management systems and technological environments, and of centralising the management of electronic units, configurations, versions and software updates for each vehicle in a digital, reliable and traceable manner throughout its entire life cycle.

Its integration with Cojali's diagnostics, connectivity and telematics solutions makes it possible to extend this management to the vehicle itself and, where the vehicle's architecture permits, to enable Over-the-Air (OTA) remote update scenarios.

These capabilities also have direct application in the management of service campaigns, enabling the more accurate identification of affected vehicles, the reduction of unnecessary interventions and the optimisation of the service network's resources. This helps to reduce downtime and the costs associated with diagnostics, labour, travel and administrative procedures.

Achieving this certification strengthens Cojali OEM Solutions' position as a technology partner for manufacturers, enabling them to tackle the growing complexity of vehicle software management, new regulatory requirements and the digitalisation of after-sales processes.
