On 28 May, the Rafael del Pino Auditorium hosted the Future of Transport Forum, organised by Cojali through its Jaltest Telematics division. A key meeting point for the road, urban and passenger transport sector, where current and future challenges were discussed in a context marked by digitalisation, sustainability and technological innovation.
The conference was opened by Elena Atance, General Director of Road Transport of the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility, who highlighted the need to make progress in supporting the sector through budgetary aid for fleet renewal, especially in the case of SMEs and freelances, and the promotion of public and private initiatives to address the shortage of professional drivers, a structural challenge that requires coordinated action.
Freight transport: energy efficiency, talent and technology
The first round table, entitled "New road transport paradigm: innovation, digitalisation and sustainability" and moderated by Pablo Guindo, brought together representatives from MITECO, ASTIC, Lextransport and Grupo Sesé. One of the topics that aroused most interest was the functioning and potential of Energy Saving Certificates (ESCs), generating a valuable exchange of experiences and solutions.
It was highlighted how platforms such as Jaltest Telematics, with efficient driving, preventive maintenance and remote diagnostics solutions, can become strategic allies to take advantage of these incentives and improve fleet energy efficiency.
Issues related to the lack of drivers and the need to define effective strategies to attract and retain talent in the sector were also addressed. The importance of promoting continuous training in organisations was underlined, not only as a tool for professional development, but also as a lever to ensure competitiveness in an increasingly demanding environment.
Urban mobility and passengers: electrification, availability and the power of data
The second round table, "The great challenge of mobility: electrification, efficiency and availability", moderated by Mayte Rodríguez, focused on the operational challenges of urban and passenger transport. Rafael Orihuela (EMT Madrid) was one of the most active speakers, highlighting the complexity of the electrification process: from the required infrastructures to the actual implementation times.
Both EMT Madrid and EMT Valencia pointed out the importance of having valuable information in real time to anticipate incidents, optimise maintenance and increase vehicle availability. In this sense, they recognised that the use of the Jaltest Telematics platform has been key to make faster and more efficient decisions in their fleets.
Grupo Ruiz and ALSA also highlighted the importance of data as a driving force for the development of the sector, especially in a context of increasing automation and progress towards autonomous mobility. Both companies highlighted the great effort they are making to adopt new technologies that allow them to anticipate incidents, optimise maintenance and increase fleet availability.
Presentation of the new platform and professional networking
The event ended with the first presentation of the video of the new Jaltest Telematics platform, which was received with great interest from the audience. The video showcased all the functionalities incorporated in this new version, designed to offer an intuitive, visually optimised and usability-focused experience for fleet managers and technicians.
The following networking space allowed attendees to exchange ideas, share visions of the future and establish new opportunities for collaboration in a relaxed and professional atmosphere.
