Cojali S. L. has taken another step forward in its commitment to the environment by joining IMPLICA, a non-profit organisation that operates as a CSEPR (Collective System of Extended Producer Responsibility) and made up of packaging companies to comply with the obligations of the EPR (Extended Producer Responsibility). Its objective is to manage industrial and commercial packaging to ensure that it is reused or managed in an eco-friendly manner at the end of its useful life.
In Spain, since 2022 there is a new legal framework for packaging and waste management, the Law 7/2022 and the Royal Decree 1055/2022. Therefore, joining to a CSEPR is essential for companies to be able to prepare in advance for all the changes that will have to be implemented, and also to inform the rest of actors involved in the process.
Cojali is aware of the importance of business plans that allow the improvement of our environment, that of the personnel, clients and, ultimately, the environment of the society as a whole. For this reason, it has a Corporate Social Responsibility plan that sets out its commitments and actions. In this respect, Cojali has started several initiatives aimed at minimising the environmental impact of the business activity, that join the commitment to offering sustainable alternatives within the wide product and solution catalogue that is offered to its clients.
In this context, Cojali joins IMPLICA and is committed to assume the RAP in terms of organisation and costs of the complete management of the packaging in which it supplies its products after the end of their useful life, as well as to inform the Public Administrations of the types, materials and formats of the packaging used. In addition, it also undertakes to inform clients along the value chain about the operational-technical model to be applied in this management, who must also fulfil their obligations with regard to the management of packaging waste.
